Alaska Airlines Seasonal Horizon Air Departure Assist Agent in Seattle, Washington

POSITION INFORMATION

As a Departure Assist Agent, you play a key role in connecting with our guests and keeping our flights running smoothly. Whatever the weather, you will direct aircraft for takeoff and gate approach as well as loading and unloading luggage. This is a seasonal role to support our operation during the summer months and other busy travel seasons. During that time your shift will vary so you will need to be flexible with your time. While an active seasonal employee, you will enjoy limited travel privileges. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide frontline customer service to our guests (meet, greet and assist)

  • Wing walking outbound aircraft

  • Assisting in positioning the passenger boarding ramp up to E175's.

  • Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions while remaining focused on safely performing duties

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum age of 18

  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record preferred

  • Previous customer service experience preferred

  • Friendly, knowledgeable and polite in all situations

  • Strong diplomacy and teamwork skills

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate using a two-way hand held radio required

  • Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds required

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment

  • Ability to perform basic mathematics required

  • Ability to work flexible schedules to include weekends and holidays required

  • Regular and predictable attendance required

  • If selected, able to attend 1 day of orientation in Portland, OR

ENHANCED DRIVER'S LICENSE(EDL) or PASSPORT REQUIRED at time of badging for customs clearance. EDL can be obtained for a fee from the local licensing office. Proof of citizenship is required to get an EDL. Click here for more information. http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/edl.html

PAY

The starting hourly wage for this position is $15.00
