Coordinate all phases of Vancouver operations, to include daytime, nights, weekends and holidays with full authority to make decisions critical to maintaining Company operating and safety objectives
Provide feedback on probationary and grievance processes with recommendations for appropriate discipline if needed
To manage and provide immediate feedback and oversight on internal staff and vendor performance
Measure internal and vendor productivity
The person in this role will make recommendations to the Regional Manager Canada on appropriate changes to ensure quality service and operational goals are achieved while meeting established productivity goals
Manage Ground Service Vendor and Customer Service day to day operation, ensure an unwavering Commitment to Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines Safety culture, Compliance, Operational and Passenger expectations are being met
Collaborate with Maintenance, Flight Ops, Inflight MCO and SOC to decide acceptable passenger, baggage, and on-time performance impacts due to off schedule operations
Assist with Regional Manager Canada on facility and future infrastructure projects at YVR
Attend all associated meetings that pertain to both airlines operation at Vancouver Airport, to include AOC and Trans-border, All Managers Meetings, Leadership Meetings
Help coordinate with station trainers all training needs associated with both airlines
Responsible for employee recognition and attaining operational performance goals including: MAP rate, On-time performance, Time-to-Carousel and Customer Satisfaction
Implement any procedural or process changes as they relate to the arrival or departure of aircraft, passenger flow and balancing, and baggage make-up and delivery
Provide leadership and direction to ensure that high standards and performance are maintained
Other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree preferred
Minimum of three years airline experience in leadership positions with proven skills in passenger service/station operations including cargo handling, ground operations and personnel administration required
Management experience in airline vendor oversight required
Experience with scheduling shift work, administering bargaining unit employees, budget controls, administering discipline and demonstrated motivation skills required
Analytical with ability to problem solve, make decisions, instruct and coach employees
Familiar with CBSA, CATSA, TSA, FAA, and IATA regulations and requirements related to passenger and ground handling
Excellent oral and written communication required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be authorized to work in Canada .
The location for this position is at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
